Partnership Tag Rugby Finals Hotly Contested!

It was the turn of Tag Rugby to enter the School Games spotlight and just over 300 children took part in our Partnership finals at Crusaders RUFC.

Despite weather of bibilical proportions the day before, conditions were good at Crusaders RUFC and certainly allowed for some fantastic Tag Rugby to be played throughout the day.

10 teams entered our Small Schools competition, and after a morning of fast-paced action it was left down to Bawburgh, Lyng, North Elmham & Corpusty to battle it out in the afternoon for the two WNDSSP slots at the County finals in early 2017. In the end it was Bawburgh who emerged as our 2016 champions, with Corpusty taking the Runners Up spot. Both Schools have qualified to represent WNDSSP at the County finals, and huge congratulations must be extended to all our Small Schools who took part - full results can be seen on the document below.

Our Big Schools competition was jam-packed with 16 teams and was as close & competitive as many predicted. After a morning of Group games, the winners & runners-up from each group made up the Cup competition with the other teams in Plate action. The tries continued to rain in & the standard of play was incredibly high throughout, and it all cumulated with Firsdide taking on Toftwood 'A' in the grand final. Toftwood 'A' produced a fantastic team display to win through & become our 2016 champions, with Firside still joining them as our WNDSSP representatives at the County finals. It truly was an awesome day of Rugby, and credit must go to all the teams who took part for making the day such a great spectacle. Huge thanks also must go to Crusaders RUFC for hosting us so brilliantly, and to the simply superb Leaders from Northgate High School who refereed all the games with confidence, skill and real authority. We couldn't have done it without you guys!
