School Games Sportshall Athletics Competition

It was a day of fast-paced fun & plenty of action as 16 teams competed in our School Games Sportshall Athletics Competition at the UEA Sportspark.

Over 300 children took part in the days activities, as 12 Schools battled it out in the Big Schools competition and 4 Schools took part in the Small Schools event. Adam from Sportshall UK was on hand to ensure the atmosphere was electric throughout and the enthusiasm levels never dipped below 100%!

Through a combination of track and field events, the children scored points for their School and each & every one of them can be proud of the effort they put in. In amongst the fierce competition it was great to see so many children enjoying themselves and it all combnined to make a fantastic event that must have looked great to the watching parents.

The Big & Small Schools were competing in separate Boys & Girls competitions, and after the Athletic events were all finsished the Top 3 in each were as follows...

Congratulations to the winners in each of the above categories as they go through to represent WNDSSP at the County Level 3 School Games finals in March 2017. A full set of results from the day (including combined boy/girl scores & placings) can be seen on the enclosed resources.

Thank to all ofour Schools who took part & competed with such enthusiasm & enjoyment - we hope you had just as much as we did! The Schools present were Drayton Jnr, Firside Jnr, Costessey Jnr, Reepham, Gt.Witchingham, Scarning, Dereham Jnr, Swanton Morley, Lyng, Hockering, Thomas Bullock, Toftwood Jnr, Garvestone, Mattishall, Easton St.Peter's & St,Augustines.

A huge thanks must go to Adam from Sportshall UK for delivering such a superb event, and to the Leaders from Taverham High School who did a brilliant job of officiating & recording results. Also, thank you to the UEA Sportspark for hosting us.
