In glorious Spring sunshine nearly 100 children from years 3 & 4 came together at the Norwich Family Golf Centre for a morning of Tri-Golf competition.
Organised by Sally Benton, and brilliantly led by the Hellesdon High Sports Leaders the children got to compete in 9 different Tri-Golf challenges scoring points as they moved around the various activities.
There were smiles all round as the Children tackled all the challenges put in front of them and some real progress was made by everyone with great skiill being shown in both putting & driving. The final postiions were as follows...
1st FIRSIDE 1 2nd MATTISHALL 3rd QUEENS HILL 4th FIRSIDE 3
5th FIRSIDE 3 6th REEPHAM 7th ST.PETER'S 8th NORTH ELMHAM
A big well done to everyone who came & congratulations to Firside 1 who have earnt their place at the Norfolk School Games County Tri-Golf finals on June 19th.
Alongside the traditional competition we also ran a "Skills For Life" league table, which is a concept introduced by the Golf Foundation to help introduce & promote personal skills, teamwork and fair play. Well done to REEPHAM who were our winners on the day with an incredible 77 points out of a possible 80!
As mentioned earlier, we couldn't have done it without Mrs Benton & her absolutely brilliant Leaders so we'd like to place on record a huge thanks to them. Also, we'd like to thank Jules Hutchinson for her expert help on the day and the Norwich Family Golf Centre for letting us use their fantastic facility.
