NRASTC Lite Course

Cost of course £125.00 per delegate

Outline - NRASTC LIGHT is an 8-hour course based on supervision and rescue skills for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons.

Description – This course enables staff to assist poolside or in the water wide at a wide range of swimming pools, including pools where the water is deeper than the teacher’s standing depth. Support from a first aider or lifeguard can be used as back up. This means that schools do not have to pay extra for a lifeguard/first aider to be present on poolside.

 Course content includes:

1.      The teacher, swimming pool and class management.

2.      Intervention rescue and emergency action.

3.      CPR & First Aid.

4.      Assessment

Outcome – This qualification ensures that candidates achieve an understanding of their roles with safety at a swimming pool as well as an excellent knowledge of how to respond to several different types of emergencies. It enables delegates to also recognise factors that may occur during lessons and how to avoid these.
