ST AUGUSTINES TRIUMPH IN KWIK CRICKET

On a very sunny day for once the SSP held its latest event with the Kwik Cricket competition at Great Witchingham CC on Monday 15th June.

The competition was split with 12 schools competing for the big Schools prize, and 5 small school teams competing for the small schools competition.

In the Small schools, Great Witchingham were magnificent with ball and bat and managed to win 100% of their games to romp home as winners. Hockering (A) came second with Easton In 3rd place.

In the Big schools competition - the group stages seperated the teams well with a Top qualifying group of St Augustines / Corpusty / Drayton and Scarning. All 4 teams have a great track record in the competition and proved the best teams once again.

In the firsst semi final, St Augustines edged out a very strong Corpusty side, before Scarning beat Drayton to take a final berth.

In the final the St Augustines quality took hold in the dying stages of the game to provide another Kwik Cricket victory for Mr Long and his team.

Both Scarning and St Augustines now proceed to the School Games Finals next week at Horsford to represent the SSP in the next stage.
