Secondary School Angling Competition

15 pupils from across the Partnership took part in the Secondary Schools Angling Competition at Barford Lakes and caught some great fish.

At the picturesque (even in the persistent rain!) setting of Barford Lakes five teams from Neatherd High & Taverham Hall took part in a 3 hour match - pulling in some lovely fish including Carp, Roach, Bream, Tench & Perch to the total weight of nearly 200lb!

Zak Worby from Neatherd was the individual winner with an incredible catch of 58lb 4oz but as this was a team event it was no guarantee of 1st place... but the backing of his team-mates did indeed bring Zak's team of Neatherd 'B' the overall victory.

1st - Neatherd 'B' 7pts (Zak Worby, Billy Grimes, Jamie Nunn)

2nd - Neatherd 'A' 8pts (Kane Clark, Josh Richardson, Jordan Bowie)

3rd - Taverham Hall 'A' 9pts (Will Longe, Ben Wright, Baylee Gudgeon)

4th - Taverham Hall 'B' 10pts (George Byrne, Will Clarke, James Hicks)

5th - Neatherd 'C' 11pts (Cameron Vincent, Adam Crowhurst, Johnny Keeler)

Huge thanks must go to Sarah & Jack at Barford Lakes for running the event, as well as coaching the Anglers on to the fantastic hauls they pulled in. They were both an invaluable help to the pupils taking part & their patience and advice was hugley appreciated by all.

Neatherd 'B' will now get the chance to compete at the Level 3 School Games finals on June 23rd as the representative of West Norwich & Dereham SSP.
