Playground to Podium Festival

On May 27th over 200 children from all over Norfolk took part in the first event of the Summer School Games program, the 'Playground 2 Podium' festival at UEA Sportspark.

The Pupils took part in a range of different sports & activities throughout the day, making full use of the excellent facilities available to them both inside & outside at the Sportspark. These included Wheelchair Basketball, Tennis, Cricket, Judo, Athletics, Boccia, Table Tennis & Football.

Five schools from the West Norwich & Dereham SSP took part in the day & pupils from Firside, Toftwood Junior, Drayton Junior, Neatherd High & Taverham High had a great time taking part and looked the business in their red t-shirts!

It was a fantastic way to kick off the Norfolk Summer School Games and a fitting way to finish off a busy half-term of sporting activitiy in the West Norwich & Dereham SSP. Thanks must go to Jo at Active Norfolk for her hard work in organising the event, as well as the UEA Sportspark for hosting us all.
