Today saw our first ever girls Kwik Cricket competition with 6 teams from across the partnership battling it out at Great Witchingham C.C
Depsite the lack of any sun the conditions were pretty good and the six teams taking part aquitted themselves brilliantly showing a huge improvement as the day went on despite not having a huge amount of prior exposure to Cricket.
Played in a round-robin league format, the six teams had five games each - taking 5 points for a win and 1 for a loss with the winners progressing through to the Level 3 County finals. After a brilliant day of competition, the league finshed as follows...
1st - St.Augustines 25pts (161 runs)
2nd - Reepham 17pts (172 runs)
3rd - Dereham Junior Academy 17pts (129 runs)
4th - Toftwood A 13pts (150 runs)
5th - Thomas Bullock 13pts (113 runs)
6th - Toftwood B 5pts (103 runs)
So huge congratulations to St.Augustines who progress to the Level 3 County finals which are taking place in Norfolk School Games week later this month. Thanks must go again to Great Witchingham for hosting us so superbly as well as to the umpires for keeping the games going - we look forward to a bigger & undoubtedly better competition this time next year!
