Nearly 100 Secondary School Young Leaders from around our Partnership came together at our Leadership Academy to plan some new sporting activity back at their Schools.
Designed around some of the more alternative & "extreme" sports available to Schools, the Leaders got the chance to take on some practical skills before planning what activity they would like to drive & deliver back at their School sites.
The sports involved were Dodgeball, Ulitmate Frisbee, Handball & Lacrosse with many of the youngsters taking part in at least one of those sports for the first time at the Academy. All Leaders got to try all the sports, before then joining back together with their peers to choose one to focus their project around.
Some of the projects devised for the future included Inter-house competitions, Inter-form competitions, lunchtime clubs & taster sessions and we look forward to seeing these come to fruition in the near future.
The Academy also served as the starting point of the pathway to extra leadership & coaching opportunities, as the best 16 Leaders from the Leadership Academy will be invited into the Norfolk Young Coaches Academy which kicks off in february to further enhance their learning around leadership.
Many thanks to Hellesdon, Taverham, Neatherd, OVA & Reepham for coming along & getting stuck into all the challenges so positively. Thanks also go to Chloe Pedlow & Katie Lake for helping out so brilliantly with our practical delivery, and to Easton College Tennis Centre for hosting us.
