Yr5-6 Tag Rugby Competition
On 13th October we held our Yr5-6 Tag Rugby Competition. This was a Compete themed event and was for pupils who enjoy competition. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Teamwork. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Teamwork School Games Value.
We had the following 12 schools/teams attend our event:
- Garvestone
- Toftwood Junior
- Cawston
- Firside
- Astley
- St Peter's
- Costessey
- Lyng
- Kinsale Junior
- Reepham
- Thomas Bullock
- Scarning
Neatherd High School sports leaders refereed, who were brilliant at supporting and encouraging the children to do their personal best. It was great to see over 120 children involved in rugby and a great opportunity for the pupils to represent their school in a sports event. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve their rugby skills further by putting on clubs before/after school, break and lunchtimes as well as encourage the pupils to join a local community club to promote/grow rugby wider in Norfolk.
A big well done to Costessey Primary who won the competition today and the runners up were Firside
