YR7/8 TRANSITION MULTISKILLS FESTIVAL
On 24th April 2023 we held our Yr7-8 Transition Mult-skills festival at Taverham High School. This was a Engaged themed event and was for students who are least active/not achieving 60 active minutes a day/ trying something new & not getting the chance to represent the school regularly for fixtures. The school games value celebrated for this event was Self-Belief. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one student from their school who stood out the most for showing Self-belief School Games Value.
We had the following 3 schools attend our event:
- Taverham High School
- Dereham Neatherd High School
- Reepham High School
Taverham High School sports leaders helped run the inflatables activity, Georgie delivered Boxercise and Claire from Hoopstars delivered Basketball who were all brilliant at supporting and encouraging the students to do their personal best. It was great to see over 30 children involved in these variety of activities and a great opportunity for the students to represent their school in a sports event. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the students an opportunity to develop and improve their boxercise and basketball skills further by putting on clubs and encouraging the students to join a local community club to promote/grow basketball and boxercise wider in Norfolk. Georgie and Claire will be providing these schools who attended a follow up session to their school to continue this pathway.
