On 15th June 2023 we held our Yr3/4 School Games Mini Tennis Competition at Easton Tennis Centre. This was a Compete themed event and was for pupils who enjoy competition. All Pupils received a participant certificate and the school games value celebrated for this event was Teamwork. All children were encouraged to display the school games values and fair play but each team nominated one pupil from their school who stood out the most for showing Teamwork School Games Value.
We had the following 9 schools/22 teams attend our event:
Ormiston Victory Acadamy High School sports leaders helped run the competition, who supported the event and encouraging the children to do their personal best. It was great to see 90 children involved in the competition and a great opportunity for the pupils to represent their school in a sports event. Following on from todays event, we encourage schools to provide the children an opportunity to develop and improve their tennis skills further by putting on clubs and encouraging the pupils to join a local community club to promote/grow tennis wider in Norfolk.
Youth Voice - Quotes from the pupils at the event:
A really big well done to Costessey Primary School team 1 & 2, also Thomas Bullock and Drayton Jnr who won the Yr3/4 mini tennis competition in their individual groups and qualifies to go the the County Finals on 3rd July.
And a very well done to all that took part.
